As of May 1, 2010, the American Copy Editors Society no longer offers new e-mail accounts to its members because of the amount of upkeep involved and the continued problem of phantom and spam accounts being created. As a result, new copydesk.org e-mail accounts will be reserved for the organization and its officials. All existing e-mail accounts, however, will continue to operate.
